Your 5 Point Guide To Refilling Inkjet Cartridges

1. Keep your inkjet cartridges stored correctly if you’re not using them. This means upright and out of sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep the print cartridges with their heads facing down, this will prevent them from drying out and make it easier when refilling inkjet cartridges. Keep them stored in a cool and dry place, this goes for your printer refill kits too.

2. In order to use inkjet printer refills your cartridges must be in good condition. Keep them dirt free and ensure that you give them a good clean. A run through the cleaning cycle will improve printing if you haven’t used your printer in a while.

3. Be careful not to shake your cartridges as this may damage them. Handle your inkjet cartridges with care when refilling and avoid touching the conductive parts with your fingers. If you need to give them a rigorous clean, try using a swab and some alcohol.

4. Streaking, fading and omitted letters in your printing are indicators of bad print quality. Often the obvious diagnosis is that your inkjet cartridge is out of ink or you printer heads are blocked. In the worse case scenario contact the manufacturer.

5. Make sure the printer refill kit that you purchase is compatible with your printer. You’ll find that the best kits are designed to be used for a particular brand. Avoid ‘universal’ kits when refilling inkjet cartridges.
